You may have heard that Moreland Woods has already been sold for development. This is not true! We still have an opportunity to protect the trees and create the special place for all Portlanders that we’ve always envisioned.
On Saturday, October 23, from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM, Friends of Moreland Woods will host a facilitated brainstorming and idea-gathering session to explore the future possibilities for Moreland Woods. The event will take place at Moreland Woods, with a rain contingency at Llewellyn School. Your input and ideas will help us focus the community vision for what the Woods can be.
Run by Mark Lakeman, founder and director of Communitecture (and one of our long-time Sellwood supporters), the event will help shape the community’s vision for what Moreland Woods will be if we succeed in saving it. The session will:
- Define the goals and best uses for Moreland Woods
- Prioritize ideas and uses for it
- Explore multiple design ideas
- Organize folks to help with next steps
Please join us. Bring your kids, friends, and neighbors! The event will take place at Moreland Woods, with a rain contingency at Llewellyn School. Your input and ideas will help us focus the community vision for what the Woods can be. And we’ll have a special table for kids to participate—so please bring them!
